              Who are Airbrush Productions?

Airbrush Productions was launched in 2004 with a production of Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers. The show met with great critical acclaim and, boosted by our success, we moved onto stage a new rock version of Stephen Swartz’s musical Godspell, swiftly followed by the magical Tom’s Midnight Garden, straight from London’s Unicorn Theatre. Each of the founding members has worked extensively in musical theatre but, choosing to take “normal jobs” rather than follow that precarious career of acting, we instead established a theatre company which would really push to boundaries of the word “amateur”.

The ethos of Airbrush is very much about fun - rehearsals tend to turn into a bit of a social event and we do tend to hold most production meetings in the pub. But it’s also about challenging ourselves, avoiding traditional musicals, giving younger performers experience, and bringing professional quality shows to audiences at amateur prices.

In March this year, Airbrush performed the Kent Premier of the popular West End musical, 'We Will Rock You' in a sell out run at the Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone.  In April, we took the same cast and crew to the Woodville Halls, Gravesend and once again wowed full houses with the Queen & Ben Elton musical.

2008 looks to be a busy year for Airbrush productions.  We are thrilled to be returning to the Hazlitt with the 'ultimate feel good musical': Return to the Forbidden Planet.
